Victor 5 opinion needed

I am out of touch with the current market. I know that prices have changed and sometimes to a great degree over years ago. I have a chance to buy a small collection and the best piece is a later Victor 5 which has a brass horn. This is the one that has the rounded outside petals (like Columbia) and not the Victor style petals. It is made for a Victor. I have been told that there is a big difference in the value of these horns. The machine appears to be a nice clean original. You can see some polishing fine scratches in the horn. What is a fair wholesale price on this? I think that I have a fair market value for the rest of the machines.

You are asking for a value on the horn? If it's an after market horn made to be used on a Victor there is good value. If it's a modified cylinder horn there is little value. I would look for evidence of a hanger and I'd like to see photos if possible. Jerry Blais
