Picked up an Edison Home Suitcase serial number H3354 today at the Kutztown, Pa Antique Extravaganza. Nice low serial number and brass mandrel dating to January 1898. Well now I have another machine to bring back to it’s former beauty.

Nice find. Looks as if it has been well taken care of for its age. Congratulations. Steve

That is a nice phonograph to restore. A good clean up to see what you want to do with it. It may be nice to just do a little touch up on the rusty area to preserve it if it is not to deep. Have fun.. One of those projects that give a lot of pride when finished and brought back to life. Tom

That's a nice looking machine! Congratulations on the find!!!
I have number 1288 and the only visible difference is the carriage's arm that sits on the feedscrew. Mine is weighted i stead of spring-loaded. It also has the skinny main-spring.

I've always had a soft spot for "L" door Victrolas and suitcase Homes. The suitcase Home is such a value. Where else can you purchase a machine sold in the 19th Century at a reasonable price? Plus they are a piece of phonograph history. Great purchase! Jerry Blais
