Here is a "backwards" type BG Graphophone with spring-contact Lyric reproducer. There have been a few posts in the past about the handful of these BG's with cabinets that have the crank hole on the wrong (left) side, meaning that viewing the banner decal means facing away from a horn. I have no answers as to why but I do have yet another example that I would like to make available to forum members.

As you can see this example has great nickel and a pretty nice cabinet with original finish. Some oxidation on mandrel. I carefully disassembled the motor, cleaned and polished the gear shafts and bearings, and adjusted the one offset governor bearing so that this machine plays quietly.

The obvious difference between a BF and a BG is the oak vs mahogany cases, but are all BG's completely nickeled upstairs, too, or is this example a premium example with special order nickeled topworks?

I've never seen a BG that wasn't nickeled like this one.

It would be interesting to know in what sequence the cabinets were assembled and finished: since the decals are usually on top of the finish, it's likely the case was pretty much completed by then.
