Looking for any information about the Flat Top early version that might not be on the web. I have searched the Web for any info. Just asking if someone has any more information about this Victrola. The serial number is 1989 for the one that I have.

Forgot to mention that I might have got the best buy in 2009 for the VTLA. Bought it in an antique shop in my home town in Southern Iowa for $240.

Congratulations on an excellent find. There are slight variations in the flat top VTLAs. The earliest example has a little drawer below the lid. It is almost hidden in the trim. I believe the needle cup area is slightly different and the lid support is hinged in the early VTLA. The later flat top has a lid support with several catches so it can be placed in several positions. Any flat top is a historic Victrola.

Did the antique dealer have any more VTLA machines in back? I'd like one too...
