Edison Business Machine Model C- power cord

Hello all, and Happy 4th!!!! I am reaching out to the Forum regarding a newly acquired Edison Business Phonograph Model C. I would like to get some confirmation on the wiring of the power cord for this machine. I have owned one that did not have the resistor on the back and I simply connected a new power cord using the 2 wires coming out of the motor...
This machine does have a resistor..I have uploaded a picture here and would just like to confirm that the red cap end of the power cord with the nut would screw on to the bolt with the red ring, and the blue ring end of the power cord would attach to the nut towards the bottom as pictured?
Also is it possible to bypass the resistor all together and just run my new power cord connecting directly to the motor?
Thank you in advance for your assistance..
