This record was a little worn, and had several cracks in it, but it still sounds quite good. Here are the Knickerbockers (Ben Selvin), on a very early electric Columbia (Columbia 391), recorded May 26, 1925.

Very nice rendition Bart. I danced so strenuously to this tune that I inadvertently knocked down an oak tree! Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

Thanks for posting. Very nice rendition. I have this one on Victor (I think) and also on diamond disc. Does anyone have the diamond disc version they could post? I have not figured out how to do that yet. Would be interesting to see which one people like better? I'd have to listen to both again before voting on that but I'm so used to the DD version, I think for me it would probably win.

This one is fairly early in terms of electrical recording but it shows how good the Western Electric process was " hot from the lab" as it were. Interesting thing was that WE had done some experimental work in the Columbia studios in late 1924. This isn't to say they installed the system permanently, but there were some tests I believe.
