Are these two machines related?

Sometime ago, Melvin posted pictures of his Opera House phonograph, which looks very unique. While searching for something completely different, I ran across a picture from the Paris Phono Museum which shows a Chalet phonograph, and it looks suspiciously like the same maker made them both... What do you think?

I've seen Dan M's and another similar machine and I think they were professionally made. It may have been a small cottage industry but the final result was a expertly made product. My fact free opinion only.

The Opera House sure is neat. Can't think of what opera house it's actually based on though, if any.

The machine on top looks like a beer hall.

The Chalet is a commercial product made in Germany, more specifically in the Black forest. Every now and then one shows up for sale. It has a mechanically connected water wheel that turns when the turntable is spinning. It is quite well made and interesting.

The Opera house, as discussed in another thread, is probably a unique example - until another one is found.
