I am looking at this vic 1 and I notice that there is not the label anywhere on the horn. Do y'all think maybe its a repro? The guy said he has had it for 15 yrs and never played it. Just has it for decor.

Thoughts?

Thanks as always.

It's common for the small black & brass Victor horn to be without a decal. I'm not sure why this is true but it is. Is it more common that they don't have a decal? Others? Jerry Blais

So this one looks ok?

It looks good to me. I look for the brass rolled joint where the black steel body meets the brass bell. Very few reproduction horns replicate this detail. Jerry

Hi,
Jerry is right on with his assessment, and I agree the horn looks proper and original. I can offer that in the fairly large sample of Victor 1 B&B horns I have repaired NOT having a decal easily appears to be more common. John

In all my years of collecting the small Victor horn used for the early Victor E, and Victor I never had a decal. I asked that question many years ago. That's the same as the early small B & B and all black front mount horns.
