The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs & Recordings

I've had this machine for at least 20 years and it was inoperable, I finally decided to get it restored , it has been at the restorers for 16 months , just got it back last week.

Wow! That's a nice line up of quality machines. Great to see a Multi-Phone come back to life.

Now that's an impressive collection. I would be over the moon with joy to own any one of those machines. My favorite is the Sonora Supreme, but the Grafonola Deluxe, (two no less) come in a close second. The Victrola Eighteen in circassian walnut is a work of art as well so I guess it's tied for second place. The Multiphone is in a category all it's own. It's so beautiful that I'm sure it steals the attention away from the rest of the collection. Congratulations and I am so happy that you shared your collection with the forum. Based on what has appeared on the market over recent years, seems like wind-up Circassian XVIII's might be even fewer in number than their electric counterparts. Perhaps the wealthy 'can afford whatever they want' buyers of the time who opted for an upgraded walnut XVIII may have had the electricity and spent even more dollars to get the most 'modern' Electrola version.
