Winner Horn Gramophone

Not the prettiest design I have seen but I quite like the way it looks.

I assume they made records too ?

Winner was a brand name used by Edison Bell, mainly on records which sold in vast numbers and are still commonly found today.

The Winner name was also used on a line of cheaper gramophones. Those that I have seen have a simple pressed and painted metal horn, and I suspect that the unusual horn on the machine pictured is a period upgrade. The example below is from the German Orchestrophon catalogue of 1907.

This may not be the top of the line phonograph but the horn is very unique and would look spectacular in any collection.

Good luck if you are going to chase it in the auction.
