Golden Melody Phonograph

Picked up this "Golden Melody" phonograph today. It was a cheapo, and at $30, I couldn't leave it behind.

It's about the size of a Victrola IX, it works, sounds surprisingly good, and it came with this nifty Nipper record brush!

The motor was changed at some point, and replaced with a Collaro motor. The winding hole was moved.

I don't know anything about the company that made this, or the model, so any info would help.

Thanks - Mike

Dont know anything about it, but it is beautiful and has potential. I want to find a cheap machine to restore, because I am too nervous to try to redo the wood finish on an Edison on victor. Does it sound good without a rebuild on the reproducer? With new gaskets it could sound even better.

Collaro motors are excellent, that alone is a good find! Plus yours has the deckplate and autostop mechanism.
