I have almost all of those re-recordings on my collection - but I wonder if any of you know anything about the technical aspects how they managed to did this. So far, I never understood the whole technology.

I'm so glad to see this! These were all done in the UK but one.
The exception is "A Granada" which was re-recorded with a mariachi
band, I think in Mexico City. Naturally, that's my favorite of them
all. I'd love to know who the conductor was on the British ones, as
well as the organist who played on "The Lost Chord" and "Largo" by
Handel.

The discography in the back of
Enrico Caruso My Father And My Family by Enrico Caruso Jr.
has the organist on Lost Chord and the Largo as a 'Dawson' no first name given, but may be a clue.
The conductor on the British sides was Lawrance Collingwood. With one issued side with Walter Goehr at the baton.
And by the way, there were several of these done in the U.S. All the sides with Rosario Bourdon conducting were those, I believe.

My understanding is that Nathaniel Shilkret was also involved in these US re-recordings of orchestra accompaniment. This was in 1932, I believe.

Interesting! I didn't realize that these were not all done in the UK. Thank you for the information. Now I get to try figuring out which were which.
