Now this was a Cheney...
It looks like everything mechanical is missing including the horns.
I'd get it in a minute if I had the money, space and time to drive up there. (I really hope a member of the forum gets it.)

That is one impressive cabinet. I bet finding the mechanical parts would be a difficult process. Jerry B.

From the design of the cabinet and the hardware used I would expect to see a Radio / Phonograph. There is one picture that shows a switch that looks a lot like the RCA Radio/Record switch used on the Victor and Brunswick machines.

I'm trying to figure out where the motorboard that is shown is located... is it in the middle above the open space where a radio may have been? If it is, then this cabinet could be restored using generic parts and you would have a very unique machine. The horn could be placed in the area where the radio may have been, with the motor and turntable above it.
This machine must have been in a very high end setting back in the day...

The horn - or horns would be behind the grilles. Large Cheneys used square tubular sound passages to separated horns. The turntable would be behind the doors between them. It wouldn't be too hard to make this functional, though electric Cheney's aren't common.

Looks like it was also put on craigslist. (

I'd love to see it restored to as original as possible.
