Pathé style record on a Brunswick

I recently acquired a Pathé sapphire stylus for my Brunswick 210 and decided to try it on a Phono Cut vertical record (label calls out sapphire stylus ONLY). I turned the reproducer (single diaphragm double chuck) and when I try to play the record, it either repeats the same groove or skates. What is wrong with my machine?

Does a Phono Cut record (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phono-Cut_Record_Company and https://www.discogs.com/label/1473449-T ... -Record-Co ) have the same groove diameter and depth as a Pathé record? I'm not sure, since I've never come across one.

If so, did you adjust the counter-weight? SEE: http://www.thecuckoofarm.com/cuckoo/pho ... na/ult.php (Click on thumbnail images to make them full size.)

Also, has the reproducer been overhauled with fresh gaskets and adjusted properly? If not, hard gaskets or a frozen diaphragm needle bar can cause issues.

Reproducer was rebuilt a few months ago and sounds great. I'm not sure on the depth though. I have yet to even see a Pathé disc in person. And thanks for the link to the manual. I'll have to try again.

I had the same issue sometimes and, in all cases, it was because the gramophone was not perfectly horizontal.

I have a Brunswick 120
I would make sure you indeed have a sapphire stylus, I have come across some diamond point sold as sapphire ball before and check with magnification that it is a perfect sphere. Also double check that the reproducer is exactly horizontal and put the weight all the way forward.
I hope this helps.
