Opinion before buying a G&T Machine

Hey everyone!

As some of you may know, I joined the community about three weeks ago, after I received a phonograph that (much to my surprise and disappointment) is a crap-o-phone.

After that I set myself the objective of getting a Berliner phonograph, and found this machine:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Berliner-Trade ... %7Ciid%3A1

I'd appreciate if you guys can take a look at it and give me your opinion around it (if it looks original, the price, and so on). I'm no expert and do not want to make the mistake twice.

Thanks a ton!

José

I don't know if you're wanting the Busy Bee phono, but that extra lug on the turntable will only let you play Busy Bee discs.

Yes :) I did.

But I this time I want to be sure I'm buying what I want.

I don't see the extra lug that Busy Bees have. Might you be seeing the "mold" the platter has?

Thanks!

Just to be clear, when you click the link above, you get a listing for Busy Bee disc machine, but at the top, it says "The listing you're looking for has ended" and has a button marked "View original item". Click that to see the Berliner.

Ohhh I see!!

Indeed! The Busy Bee is the one on top, but if you scroll a bit more, just below those postings, you'll see my machine.

I'll try this new link. I hope it works:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Berliner-marca ... 663.l10137

I attach a picture of the actual listing, just in case.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!

It looks to be a very nice original example. It's a European version rather than American, so there are some differences. But even if it isn't the exact same machine as in the Trademark painting, it is very close, and also authentic. I think you did well.

I agree with TinfoilPhono. The Berliner looks like a terrific value. A Trademark machine from different countries may have slight variations but that machine transcends borders. It is a classic and desirable model in any variation. Congratulations!

It's a VERY nice machine and a good price... I hope you gave the seller specific packing/shipping instructions to avoid damage... MOST sellers have no clue how to pack them.

In my "limited knowledge" opinion, you've done very well. Congratulations!
