I picked up my lastest addition to the collection on Friday, a Rexonola 60 Prismaphonic.
The 60 was the top of line, and introduced in late 1928.
The ebay auction listed the machine as being in good condition but not working, and including a selection of records.
I'm guessing the fellow who owned it didn't know how to turn it on, because it actually works perfectly, and a "selection of records" turned out to be approximately 150 records, all in Greek.
These included dozens of HMV, Columbia, Odeons etc from the 20's, as well as many Victor acoustic records from the 63000, 65000, 72000 & 73000 series, and my first double sided G&T red label disc dating from 1909. There was even a couple fairly rare (?) Panhellenion records.

But, in any event, if you take it apart to check/restore it, could you please post a few of the horn? I've seen the horn illustrations/drawings from the Rexophone site, but never a photo of the actual horn.

Also, a YouTube video would be nice....

That looks like a beauty. Does the oak have that very reddish tone in reality? I almost took it for Mahogany.

I might have learned this from your postings, but someplace I read that in order to expose the horn of these machines you pretty much have to take apart the whole cabinet as the grille is glued and fastened in place.

I'm extremely happy with it. I saw one in a shop when I was 15 & wanted one ever since.
I'll post a couple youtube videos of it once I've finished cleaning it up. I'll also try & take some horn pictures, but as this one doesn't need to be totally pulled apart, I'm not sure how good they'll be.
The reddish tinge to the oak I think is nicotine. I've been busy cleaning it all, and what a huge difference!
I'll do a "feature" on it in a few weeks once it's finished.

I think it's the equivelant to your Gojo- it's called Yuk-off orange hand cleanser over here.

The Rexonola 60 is coming along nicely. A couple more coats of wax, recondition the motor, & it should be ready for a youtube video.
I think it's cleaned up rather well considering the muck that was on it.
