Carola question

Hello everyone,
I have a small Carola player. I am needing some felt pads for the speed controller/brake. Is this a Victrola motor used in these? Any ideas where I can find these?
Thank you,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum!
The Carola doesn't take a Victrola motor but the principles are the same. "Victrola" is a model used by Victor Talking Machine to designate a large phonograph with the horn on the inside--they made them from 1906 until RCA absorbed them in 1929.
In fact, "Carola" got its name from "Victrola."
Your motor will need some pads, though, regardless of its pedigree. There are, on eBay, some people who sell leather material as Victrola brake leather that you probably could put in there.
We'd love to see some pictures! A Carola is not commonly found.

Here is my Carola. I had to find a needle cup with lid for it and also paid my local shoemaker to make me a handle. I am pleased with the results. Neil
