Hi all,

I was asked to refurbish a G&T motor with a very deteriorated fiber gear. I managed to source the correct cutter (14.5 pressure angle) and material from a very old stock so I resurrected my gear cutting machine and this is the result!

If you need one I can make more but I really suggest to send me the entire motor so I can fit it and assure it works perfectly and smoothly. I've found that that the fiber gear carrier was not concentric to the shaft so the only way of making an absolutely true an concentric gear was to install the blank on the carrier and cut the teeth afterwards.

This same gear is used on other "round motors" from HMV, Victor and G&T.

I have setup a small company and website for this kind of pieces and services. You can have a look at http://www.pedrofono.com

Enjoy!

Amazing!

Ron Sitko also sells a replacement for this gear here in the US, made of Delrin or something like that, which works great too.

I use tufnol. It is the same material that was used originally.
