I thought if anyone is interested.I would like to start a new thread on Berliner records. If any one would like to show the different types of labels,colors,titles,etc.....
I will start with a early Canadian 7" Berliner that has the "HMV" logo in the sound grooves. They are located at 12,3,6 and 9 0'clock.This record was pressed from a US master. However, some were pressed from UK masters. Then a first 1899 Canadian pressing. The first paper label 1901 on a black record and lyrics pasted on the back.Last, the rarest Canadian label. The 1903 Imperial record which was sold for only a few years.

Beautiful item. You did a very good job in photographing the otherwise near invisible logo in the grooves.

MORE!!!!!!!!!!.I would like to see someone else's different Berliner's.
By the way,For those of you that have ever wanted to buy an original HMV "cast iron" record display stand.I'm adding pics of a real one.99% of the ones you see are cheap plaster copies and now they are making cheap cast iron copies. The real one will have patent info that has been covered with varnish to protect it from coming off.I hope these pics help.A lot of collectors have been fooled.

I collect Nipper postcards. This is an early Canadian trade card (front and back) and surely fits in this thread.

Do your early catalogues make references to the trademark (Nipper or Angel) in grooves? If so, could you please scan the respective text passages.
Do you know the date when the Canadian gramophone Co. introduced the paper label?

Guest!!!!LOL!!!.How about joining up on the team and lets win this one!!!!LOL!!!.To answer your question.....NO mention of the HMV in the gooves in any I own.As for the paper label....I posted the earliest one on here.....1901.As you can see the record is still black not brown and the lyrics are on the back.As for the HMV records....we think that they were only mkade for a very short time.Like months.Maybe the prosess was too expensive....who knows. Here is a questionable article that was written in the 80's.Also,the only period ad I have ever found with mention of the logo in the grooves.
