I started working on the electric pickup to be attached to your reproducer. Not ready for pictures as the design is in the skeleton stages.

Did my first sound testing today. See link to 2 files. One is the very first test which produced some blasting. Second file is my progress by adding damping to suppress the blasting.

These files are raw with no editing. Reviews welcomed.

I will be making them available when I have finalized the design. As mentioned in another post I plan to incorporate a built in amplifier to enable playing stand alone through just a speaker or connected to your PC. I will also be producing my diaphragm in quantity. By the way these recordings are done with a Diamond B reproducer with my diaphragm installed.

My problem is I cannot stay focused on a single project. Too may irons in the fire.

Another project in the works is making Orthonophonic locking rings machined from ABS pipe to replace those pot-metal broken rings. Mine will last a few centuries.

Hi Herman, I just remembered that you had asked me a couple of weeks ago why I used steel instead of brass for the ring and I never replied. Here's the reason. A friend of mine who does some machining for me was over and I asked him if he could turn the ring and cut the needed threads. I just happened to have a small section of steel tubing that was pretty close in size, so I sent him home with it. And that's the whole reason.

I just came from my lathe and cut the first sample from PVC at 24TPI. I also found a supply of Aluminium pipe which will be perfect stock to start from but shipping is a deterrent.
I found that any 2-inch SCH 40 pipe regardless of material has the perfect dimensions to work with. I am thinking of using ABS drain pipe as it is already black.
