Platter felts

I ordered this felt from One of The Flock, the "moss" color, but the color is way too light for the victor platters I have. It seems to be the right color for my talk-o-phone one. Does anyone have a good suggestion for an accurate dark green felt? I like this felt because it doesnt have those synthetic reflective fibers

Thanks
Martin

I like the tone of the one I bought from Walt Summers at Gettysburg via ebay (cyber_tigger)

Take a look at Weir Crafts: https://www.weircrafts.com/wool-felt/100-wool-felt.html

I used their Merin0 Wool in the Fern color. This is how it turned out.

I only use Wier Craft Merino wool felt. Their Victrola Orthophonic color is good too. A corresponding size dinner plate and a rotary cutter or single edge razor blade make the job easy.

Nice work and nice felts.

Let's not forget, though, that the platter felts on early Victor products tend to be very dark "Emerald Green." I have an original green felt still stuck to my Vic III and it's a very nice dark green--not seen often, especially as it is usually covered up by a record!

That Talkophone felt is the same color as the stuff on my Oxford BZ hornless talking-machine.

Your choice of course but I'd just leave those original felts. I would not replace them. Another option is to get the pre-cut ones offered by eBAY by Walt Sommers and just lay them over the original felts.
