Dear all, in earlier discussions I had talked about expanding my search across Asia from colonial portables to horn models, something I know even less about.

So I have been sent these below sets of snaps. From what I can see, I believe in both machines the sound-box is the typical crapophone soundbox - for sure on the Primaphone. But what about the rest of the machine? Are these genuine to any degree?

To my untrained eye - these look superior to the regular shiny crapophones one comes across. Though in my recent experience, was very pleasantly surprised to see 90% of dealers telling me upfront that a particular gram was a replica / "decorative item" so not trying to fob it off as genuine. Except in this case.

As always, any advice or feedback appreciated.

quick update - the seller has just mailed me saying he is a reputable online seller and asked me to search him on facebook - "relics and rarities" - in case you guys are interested.

both are original , the HMV is probably a model 32 which should have an HMV 34 motor , the horn looks iffy may be original and shortened ? Also the 32 would normally have a No 4 soundbox and appropriate tone arm but probably this is still correct with the No 5 and tone arm as they were produced for a longer period in India

Original Primaphones are also around. This one looks to be teak, and would say reasonably correct (- soundbox).

Going to go out on a limb and irritate the experts here! But think the HMV is a model 31a? At least the machine if not the horn.

Came across a few more primaphones at 25% of the price of these. Had dismissed them outright as knock-offs but will now take a closer look and share snaps if / as soon as I receive the same.

At 144,000 Pakistan Rupees about £790 the HMV is rather expensive I think

So the HMV is a 132A ? But it looks to have a 12" turntable unless the record is less than 10 " ?
