Found this little portable machine in an antique mall in Hagerstown MD, for $175.00. Runs well for it’s age. Would appreciate any information on it, as I have a hard time finding any on Google?

Is this your newest machine? Nice. finally you got something!

...I know where there’s one for sale near me but they want way more than $175 for it.

At a time when car ownership in Britain and Europe was the preserve of the middle and upper classes, camera sized portables were popular for outdoor use. They could be easily carried on a bike or on public transport, although there was still the weight of the records to consider.
The Thorens Excelda imitated a folding camera, whilst other makes imitated a box camera.

Nice find for a great price, especially in red. I have the same one in black, but the colored ones are more desirable I think.
Here is a link to the original manual for the Thorens Excelda:

After a bit of cleaning and oiling and constant playing, I finally got this phonograph, too play through an entire record, without slowing down. Yea!

Also, cleaned up my test record. “Yes! We Have No Bananas! I am so proud of myself, for getting this little machine, back up and running, without having to take the whole machine, apart.
