If you are interested in a Victrola that is certainly unusual this Victrola XII may be for you. According the the Victor Victrola Page the XII was made for only one year and the estimate for total production was only 4913 units. The serial number of this one is 899. I have tons of photos and all were outside under natural light. The Victrola is in good original condition and is 100% correct.

I have always liked the Victrola XII. It sold for $125 along side the Victor VI at $100. It demonstrates the power of Victor advertising. Both machines shared a three spring motor, the same tone arm, and the Exhibition sound box. But the similarities ended there. The horn opening of the XII is 15" by 3" or 45 square inches. The diameter of the Victor VI horn at the opening is 22" or 380 square inches (remember your math class? Area equals pi x r squared or 3.14x121 =380.) Does the VI sound eight times better than the XII (380 divided by 45 = 8.44)? The answer is "no" but the VI does sound better plus the sound comes out closer to ear level than the sound from the Victrola. Buyers of the Victrola XII really wanted the looks of the internal horn machine and were willing to pay for appearance over substance.

I am happy to deliver this machine to Union or APS at no additional cost but I will not ship the Victrola. It goes to the first person to reply "SOLD!" I am happy to answer questions but that does not imply there is a hold on the machine.

Thanks, Jerry Blais
