Not mine and in need of some cabinet work, but I think worth saving. Very scarce model. I hope that someone buys this one before it becomes a wine cabinet, (or before I figure out how to make room and tell my wife that I am taking a road trip).

I miss out on so many good deals/machines not having Facebook, probably. I am on the other side of the state, so it would be a 4+ hour drive (and I do not have $450 on me).

Why does it have a light in it if has a spring motor?

There is a light in it because that's a luxury touch for this very expensive-when-new phonograph. The wooden tonearm is another.

The motor on these is the extraordinary, heavy, gold plated, turbine-smooth and whisper-quiet big spring motor. It isn't shown and I'm too lazy to go hunt down a catalog cut, but I bet this one also has the motor meter, which is gauge that gives an indication of how many "records' worth" of spring you have left before you have to wind it back up.

Since these Sonoras, like many luxury cars, were more about image than performance or perhaps even efficiency, it makes sense to keep the impressive features.

Facebook is much more than a social network. I search the Marketplace every day and I have bought and sold on there with no issues, (and it costs nothing). The nice thing about the Marketplace, as compared to Craigslist, is that you can see the profile of your customer. It is not the black hole that Craigslist is. You can always join Facebook and just use the other features. Many companies use Facebook as their primary way to communicate now. Anyway, to me it's a useful tool
