I thought one last thread....I promise!!!!

.In this thread,I thought we could look at all the different dealers signs and related things to help get the people and their money into the store.Remember....SELL,SELL,SELL!!!!!!.The motto of a Phonograph salesman

.Now,I'm limited to only show related to the format that I collect.I hope to see other brands on this thread as well as "off" brands. To me they are the coolest.

Melvind,The halloween sign is one of the coolest I've seen. The other signs you posted are also great.I see you too have a canvass Victor banner.I have the earliest one they sent out to dealers and a lot were placed outside the store.Because it's 5' long I had to take two pics to show it.Like yours,I don't think many survived.

I love your banner! The one I have is about 10' long. It's kind of hard to display. This is a fun thread for me. I have a fairly large advertising collection in addition to my phonographs.

Dan,I for one would love to see the other cool related items you have.Come on don't be shy.....

.I made a typo on my last post.My banner is also 10' long.Sad note on that buy.I was offer this one AND the much later one showing a flapper girl on the floor going thru record books in front of a humpback consul Victrola.Since I bought the first one the lady would have let me have it for 200.00..........BUT,I PASSED!!!!!!.It was over 15' long and that the time I just felt it was too new for me.It was very colorful if you have not seen the one I'm talking about. It was also made in a smaller size.I think the size was a bit big for me and my Wife would not let me use it as a bed cover....

Yes, I have seen the one you metioned. I have a reproduction poster size of it. $200!!!!! A steal for such a rare and unique item. But, at 15' really hard to find a place to show it.
When I get home from work tonight I'll try to get a few more pictures up. I have walls of this stuff!

I posted a reply but then realized I wasn't logged in so I don't know if it will show up or not. I can't believe you had access to that banner for $200!!!!! I have a poster sized reproduction of the banner and just love it.
When I get home tonight I'll get a few more things posted up. I have walls of this stuff. I'll use a bit of discretion. I could take over the thread and would rather have other folks put their great stuff up too.

I have just one advertising item, a steel and enamel double sided sign complete with dings and rust. I have not had much luck finding such items, probably because I do most of my hunting in the burbs. The stuff above is pretty neat. I don't much go for anything after RCA acquired Victor, but I love the neon clock.

First,Melvind.Yes,it is a true story that I passed on the other canvass banner for 200.00.I bought the one I have from her for 250.00 so,she was going to give me a "deal" at 200.00.I never said I was perfect!!!

.And to think I thought "too new".Which now brings me to Brads commment about the "RCA" clock.THAT'S NEWER!!!!!.OK,Brad.First,let me say you have a very nice sign indeed.I have the clock because it is the only one of two known with the original marquee and neon. The other is in the Ford museum.I had to make an exception

.I also have a little later version that was made in the late 40's.It came with a ring and a second hand. The logos are placed a bit different and the clock is a bit bigger.I have a soft spot for old neon too!!!

.I guess I should add that two days later I came to my sences and phoned the lady with the banner back.....yes!,it was gone

.Now that I have posted a few threads on what I think is a nice forum to share ideas and things we all have interest and joy in.I don't want to wear out my welcome by over threading.I hope that others will add to this so we can all enjoy and with any luck find some of these gems at are just waiting to be found.

Dont worry about over threading! I dont think that's possible unless your talking about Paramount treasures & sewing machines lol.
I think it's great to see this stuff & I'm sure others do too. I'll never get to the Ford museum, so would never have seen your clock without this thread. Most of the other stuff posted too, I'd never get to see, and some being throw away items, are probably quite unique now.
Keep the eye candy coming I reckon
If I had anything to add I certainly would, but unfortunately I've never found anything like these items out here (of any brand).
The closest I own is an HMV 75yr anniversary plastic paper weight from 1973
