Edison "H" Reproducer question

Hi All- Tonight I was going through a box of reproducers that included several Edison model "H".. Two of them have the usual weight, stamped model H 4-Minute, but they do not have anything on the housing other than a serial number. Both have serial numbers that start with the letter "C" followed by 5 digits. One is painted with the familiar translucent green paint.

Did some "H" reproducers come with blank top housings? Strange that I have two that I've picked up over the years. I'd appreciate any info you can provide.

Thanks-
Brad Abell

"Probably old replicas"

Not necessarily... The top ends with no markings and just a serial Number look like the top ends from a Post 1906 and Newer Edison Business Machine Reproducer or Recorder/and or an Ediphone Reproducer or Recorder... if I had to guess...

I've had EBM/Ediphone Reproducer and Recorders with those very same top ends.. Someone probably did a "Switcheroo" at some point and then unloaded them on ebay or wherever..
