Is this plug socket (item J in photo below of the Radiola 28 in a VE 9-55) for plugging in speakers such as the Model 100 or even a Model 104 speaker?

For a headset. On my Panatrope it cuts out the speaker and I was told by one radio guy that some folks like to tune the radio that way to find distant stations, but I have no idea on that one. Those things can scare the crap out of you if you are listening to a distant station with the volume up, and then you decide to change stations and find one with a much stronger signal. Those Radiola 28's are really sensitive sets, and I can find San Diego on that Panatrope with just the loop in the winter! They must have really gotten good reception with those things back when they were new and there was a lot less interference.

AM radio is spooky sometimes, how far it will reach. I have a 1938 Monty Wards "Airline" radio that will reach WLW out of Cincinnati, the "Nation's Station," even down in South Carolina. Alas, no headphone jack.
If you WANT some vintage headphones let me know, I have four sets.
