Here is a great working and excellent condition recorder that was restored by Steve Medved. Steve does such a great job. He replaced the glass diaphragm and knife when he restored this piece. Works great, I have used it to demonstrate brown wax recording on many occasion. Great one to have in working order. S/n is stamped 80918.
$180- shipping included or free delivery to Union for 170.
PM if interested or purchasing. PayPal preferred.

That looks like a real nice Automatic recorder!
Those recorders are interesting and fun to work with.
They tend not to talk up quite as loud as the later
style recorders that have the stylus holder glued
to the thin mica diaphragm.
However, for what they lack in sound level, they
make up for with clarity! A decent working automatic
recorder talks up so crisply, that all of the "S", "T"
and "P" sounds can be distinctly heard when played back.
Automatic recorders also have the peculiar tendency
to cut a very shallow groove. They are great fun!

I'm looking forward to finally owning one for my ca. March 1900 "4-latch suitcase" Standard model A.
Can't wait!

Good for you Fran! I think you will be very pleased
about how it works. Do you have something to shave
blanks with?
Anyway, please let us know how it works when you
get it and use it.
