Amazing to look at, BUT is it a good or bad horn gramophone?

Another horn gramophone that I possibly can buy for under 500 euro.
I must say I think it looks fantastic, but is it too fantastic? Is it the real thing?
I anyway wanted to show the gramophone, since I think it really looks very beautiful.
The engraved metal is a mystery to the owner, all he knows is that the gramophone is old.
He also knows nothing about the manufacturer etc. All he knows is that it has been in a family for decades, according to him.

Possibly a Parlophone?
Looks as though the horn's been repainted (good job, though). Don't know why it has the Judgement of Paris on the front.
If you want to tell if it's any good, ask for pictures of the motor.

looks like it may have been remotored , there is a filled hole in the front where a speed control may have been ? also soundbox is very late not original to the machine

I think this is a very important observation, about the filled hole. I have asked for photos of the motor and also close up photos of the soundbox, to try to find out what is hiding inside this gramophone.

Decorative metal panels were frequently used to embellish the cases of the better Swiss/German machines such as this.
The depth of the case suggests a substantial motor and the horn, if repainted, is a credit to whoever did it.
The soundbox is of course a later replacement, but one of the correct period should not be difficult to source.
At under 500 Euros I would be very tempted.

I have received new photos, of the motor and the soundbox. The seller tried to hide nothing, and obviously had used the gramophone for playing his records since the time he purchased it, without any problems, and was happy about that.

But of course, I am not as happy as the seller, and avoid....
The horn had rightly been repainted in the 1980's, a beautiful job...I agree on that:)

I don't think that the mark just above the decorative plate is a redundant winding handle hole, it's too small. It looks to me like a nail has been banged in, possibly because the plate rattled? The circular marks around it certainly suggest use of a hammer.

the back bracket / tone arm looks as though it may be reproduction , and the back bracket is too low fitting on the gramophone producing a strange angle of the gooseneck and thus the soundbox
