PVC Reproducer Adapter Demo

My Victrola 8-12 came with a badly swollen pot metal reproducer. With my reproducer out of commission, I decided to make a simple adapter out of PVC so I could use the reproducer from my Sonora Invincible. Hopefully I will obtain a proper orthophonic reproducer in the near term. In the mean time my adapter works alright. The You Tube video was shot with a cheep Canon Powershot so it doesn't do justice to the sound quality. You have to love Victor's Orthophonic horn which I have not serviced yet.

It seemed to me on your video that the crook of your tonearm is a bit tight? It should rotate freely on its junction to the main tonearm body. You should disassemble it, clean and regrease the joint. The position of the crook vertical supporting the weight the soundbox should be impossible without falling down!

Thanks for your advise. I will take it apart and find out if it needs some grease. The crook is not tight and I had to carefully balance it to keep it in an upright position shown in the video. All I had to do is touch it and it would rotate. The Sonora tone arm is larger than the pot metal reproducer and if I tip it all the way back, it rests on the main tone arm so I try to prevent that from happening.
