This looks like an 8-4 missing its stretcher, from another Craigslist posting. Is that what it is?

Definitely an 8-4, but missing its legs as well as the stretcher, which runs between the legs.

From a sonic standpoint, these are pretty good--a rich full sound. The bass is not as deep as a Credenza's, but it's still there.

It might be possible to reproduce the legs, using off-shelf replacements found at places such as Tablelegs.com -- http://www.tablelegs.com/ -- as shown in these restoration photos of an Edisonic Beethoven from Moo's board -- http://victrolagramophones.proboards.co ... 829&page=1

Seems that over half of the 8-4's out there are missing their legs. Just a bad cabinet design with too much weight top side. Like to see one with some bun feet from a Credenza under it.
