Could a person install a 2-spring Victor motor in a 4-spring machine and have the crank line up? I realize the motor mounting bolts would be in a different place and that it could result in new holes having to be drilled in the motor board.

With the interest of keeping the Victrola correct, my vote goes to getting another four spring motor.

No clue about the 2 and 4 spring motors, but I know that some 2 spring and 3 spring motors line up, so I would think it is not beyond the scope of possiblity to think that there might be some motors that line up.
But the 4 spring motor is not particularly uncommon, so why would you want to?

I've not seen a 4 spring motor turn up lately on Ebay. The $25 motors I see on Ebay look appealing. The motor board for the machine is gone, so I'm making a new one from scratch anyway.

I actually think I may have a spare motor lying around (pretty sure the springs are shot, and I recall the motor boards was cut down)
