PS: I do not see the part that attaches to the reproducer.

I must say, I've never seen anything like that on a phonograph.
That is really interesting.
When did they start installing those on phonograph's or was that just an added feature if the buyer wanted it?

Aftermarket accessory. They seem to turn up frequently missing the piece that attaches to the reproducer. Oddly, I have that part on an early XIV, but not the autostop part!
