Can anyone point me in the direction of information regarding a Lambertphone Companion with a 6” long mandrel. I have found limited information with a 4” mandrel but none with the longer mandrel.
Any help/links would be appreciated

Possibly retrofitted to play the six inch "unbreakable" records? Anyway, there was a discussion about the six inch Lambertphone records on this forum about seven years ago:

Thank you Orthopan for your help. I have read through the links with interest. I have copies of the TMR from Feb 1975until Autumn 1981 and Hillandale News from Dec 1972 until Mar 1985 so I will have to go page by page to see if there is any relevant info. I was alerted at a recent Phono Fair that a fellow collector had not heard of a 6” mandrel Lambertphone ‘companion’ which has led me to this question to forum members. I am still rebuilding the Matthews reproducer so when it is complete I will post some photos. Any help regarding this machine still appreciated.

I have a 6" "Imperial" cylinder made by the Lambert Co whose case advertises a Lambert machine which will play the record for 20/- (£1)

Hi Brian , I am the guy that you were talking to at the phonofair regarding your Lambertphone with 6 inch mandrel. Just to clarify to everyone --- when I spoke with you , I explained that although you referred to your Lambertphone model name as the " Companion " , the Lambert " Companion " phonograph was a model with standard sized mandrel and the not the extra long 6 inch mandrel. According to Lambert advertisements of the time , they sold four models ( all manufactured by Excelsior Werke , of Cologne , Germany ) , their " Companion " and " Entertainer" for standard size cylinders ( single- spring and double- spring respectively ) and the models with 6 inch mandrels were named "Imperial I " and " Imperial II ".
When I spoke with you , you also mentioned that your phonograph carries the name " Companion ". Is that stencilled on the motor cover ? If so , I suspect that at some point in its history , the phono has gained a replacement motor -cover for some reason . Best wishes Dulcetto
