Ran into this pic and thought some may enjoy. Its Joan Crawford & Dorothy Sebastian goofing around with their phonograph nearby. I wonder what they were listening to?

On the left, a "table model."
On the right, two models being a table.
Miss Sebastian had a little more pleasant life than Miss Crawford, but neither had a particularly peaceful existence. At least here they got to have some fun & enjoy themselves.

Found more pics of the same Photoshoot "A Day at the Beach" (1925? 1927?).... Also, I think the Photoshoot doubled as an "Everlast" Sportsgear promo as in other pics they are posed with an "Mr. Everlast" Dummy of Boxing fame..

The phonograph is an early Columbia Favorite 1911-12 with the double doors. By the time these pictures were taken in the 1920's, this machine was obsolete. I'm surprised they didn't use a suitcase portable, that was vogue during that time.

The record appears to be an acoustic-label Brunswick disc.
Probably just another jazz record. Brunswick made some great ones--Carl Fenton's Orchestra was a lot of fun.
Incidentally, Gloria Swanson's lost 1928 film "Sadie Thompson" shows her playing records on an old beat-up Victor gramophone--instead of a suitcase portable. It looks like an old Victor D or a Vic 5 with a rather hacked-about brass horn.
Joan Crawford reprised that role in "Rain" in 1932.
And unfortunately now I want to go watch some old silent movies...
