First time on the US part of the Forum:) I know absolutely nothing about Edison phonographs, but this model is for sale in my area, and time is a factor. Any input on what model it is, scarcity, and approximate value, would be much appreciated. Current bid is 220 dollar...

I have googled a lot today, but haven't found a similar looking model, but because of age,,,
I guess it maybe is Model A? Any input is appreciated really.

It's a Model A Home. It looks like someone worked around the decal trying to improve the finish. Unfortunately the results are less than desirable. I also, question the authenticity of the crank. Thel photos do not show a lid. A missing lid would be another drawback. In the States you could purchase a nice clean complete Model A Home for around $350 to $400 that needed nothing. The machine featured in this thread looks like a bit of a project and this should be reflected in the price. If I saw this machine at a major phonograph sale I would expect the price to be around $150.

Edison Home Model A long case phonograph. The case should a lighter green oak and it looks too dark - someone may have run a stain across it. Also the bedplate looks pretty rough, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. Do the horn and crane come with it? Personally I like them both. The horn looks dented up but has character and appears to be a nice size, and the crane is cool. The machine itself is, well, **meh**, and you should be able to find a better example. Here is picture of one of mine if you want to compare. These are very nice machines, and this one was either the first or second antique phonograph that I ever owned.

Hey Guys-- I agree with all that was said. BUT..... Don't forget that table crane--- It's worth nearly what the current bid is for the whole machine.. just my 2 cents-

I don't know much else about this phonograph apart from the photos, but I think I will probably pass it because of its state, despite
understanding the table crane in itself is valuable.

Unless you have the serial number, I would think that date range is too narrow. the Model A was manufactured up until 1905.
