Need help identifying and fixing motor

Hi there! I'm brand new here as my boyfriend has inherited his grandparents Silvertone phonograph. It hasn't run in quite some time and his late uncle did some work on it, but we are not sure what he did or if he changed anything. I have been doing a lot of research, and we have partially taken it apart to try to diagnose the problem, but no dice. I am planning to fully disassemble and clean all the parts to hopefully see where it is going wrong, but I wanted to come to y'all for some advice.
Can you tell me what kind of motor this is? It seems similar to a SAAL model DD, but it's not exactly the same. The main plate is stamped with the Krasco logo.
When we turn the crank, the spring barrel tries to spin a tiny bit, but it doesn't seem that the springs are winding. Thought it was slipping and we fixed that, but it still isn't winding. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!
