Found this folding tone arm, apparently a Columbia, but I don't recall seeing one that folds like this. Guessing it mounts on a Columbia portable??

My first reaction is home made, or, at least not factory production. I say this because of the look of the solder joints between the crosspiece and the taper tube. Interesting idea for sure.

It’s a genuine Columbia tonearm found more commonly on later harmony machines.

I stand corrected. I must say I have never seen anything like that before. Could someone please post a picture of the machine that uses this arm?

There are over a dozen Harmony phonographs on line, and none have a folding tone arm. Benjamin L please post a picture of the machine this goes to.

A similar model was at an antique shop here in middle TN, but it's been awhile since I went in and looked around.

Thanks for the picture, but still hard to tell. The view is obstructed by the area surrounding the arm in question.

Sorry about the bad picture, it was the only one I could find right then.

I saw one listed on eBay but I didn't save the link so it took me a minute to find it.

These machines look splendid! Anymore details? How was the horn? The soundbox seems a Viva tonal no. 9...

From the one I saw at the antique shop it looked like a fairly well built machine.
(I don't think it had a reentrant horn and the tonearm base was made of pot metal that was corroding pretty badly, but it was a nice little model.)
