Anyone is the Seattle area want to make a bid?
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/clt/1791899043.html
I've been in his basement looking at (and buying) some of those records, but unfortunately discouraged by the crazy high prices he tended to want. Still, I hope they end up somewhere good, and not in a dumpster. I have neither the space to store or facility to move all those records, even if I knew I could make a satisfactory offer (which, almost assuredly, I couldn't, right now.)
Last time I looked them over (months ago) there was a lot of variety, from early century to 1950's, many odd label. No super rarities, though that only means I didn't spy them at the time.

That is a little over 6 tons of records.
I bet Kurt or Tom might be interested.

He wants them out of there by this Sunday. Only a week after posting.
6 tons of records is a lot to take on, and there's a chance he won't achieve his goal. Even in the Seattle area, how many folks are there that are willing (and able) to do that? Especially on such short notice.
If it doesn't sell, maybe it'll get parted out for dollars, or even donated. Good times in the thrift shops, coming up!

If it were anywhere within a 6 hour drive from Albany, NY, Sean I'm sure would jump at it.

Adam, Let's test that..
Sean,
You would only have to drive less than ¼ mile per record. That should be less than the average distance you have traveled for your record collection, don't you think????

Very funny, guys!
I've been away from here for awhile because I've got my hands full with another collection. I'm nowhere near being done moving it, let alone going through it....so in short, sorry, no I don't want them!
I'm hoping soon enough to find somebody I can unload a ton of acoustics on. I'm running out of room FAST and I don't even have them all here yet!
Looking forward to a return to "regular" posting here soon!
Sean

I had the opportunity to visit that shop 8 years ago, when I was last in Seattle. Ballard is a nearby suburb. I agree with the comment made above--they tended to want top dollar for every thing they had. Funds and time were limited, but I managed to get a few records, including the one Vess Ossman Edison Disc that day.
