EMG Gramophone

It sounds as if it may have had a slightly 'hard life' but maybe someone might get it in their collection for a little less than usual ?

The thoughts of a profane on EMGs.

Have you seen the video...? The repair on the tonearm is a mess... and tracking is horrendous. I believe the tonearm missed part of its length, and it has not been properly welded, the zenith angle of the soundbox also looks as not straight vertical, but somewhat slanted outwards. Maybe it's the perspective. The soundbox angle also has been installed that makes me cringe... Poor record. Instead of 55-70º it looks as 90º or even backwards at 100º...!
Another view from the top

and the tonearm seems to fall a great distance far back of the spindle if rotated, as with a great negative overhang...
But it's a bargain at that price.
Maybe a new tonearm would cost so much that in the end the price kills you!
If it were €500 I'd go for it, but almost €1800 seems too much for a machine that needs a severe repair.

You might have a very long wait to acquire a spare tonearm for an EMG. They are extremely rare.

Maybe it's not missing a section, maybe it has been welded with an untrue angle...
Edit. No.... The second image shows clearly a too short arm.
