Went to a Mennonite farm up the road from me who were having a barn sale this morning. Picked up a box of 78's for $1 and asked if they have any more Victrola "Stuff". Farmer says "Yes, I have an old one in my basement I will sell". So in he goes in and comes out with this 1915 VV-IX that he painted the outside with barn paint when he was a youngin'. He said he wanted to distress it so it look antiquey. So I offer him $10 and now I have another project to put on the back burner.

Put some hex signs on it for added regional authenticity!

Depending on what kind of paint he used, it might be a little challenging stripping the cabinet, but other than that it should be a straightforward restoration. At $10, you've got room to put some more into it if need be! Nice save.

Hey nah....
The Pennsylvania Railroad called it "tuscan red" (a/k/a "boxcar red"). So you could also put a PRR logo on there!
