Western Electric Reproducers- Where Were They Made?

A friend of mine is setting up a museum exhibit that includes Western Electric 2a, 4a, and 9a reproducers. In making up his signage for the exhibit, he asked a seemingly innocent and easy question-where were they made, as in state and city? I have not been able to find an answer in all of my Western Electric materials, so I’m hoping one of you has the answer? Thanks very much in advance!
