This Victrola 8-12x was only made for one year. At $400 a little steep in price but still a great example of 1920s style

The 8-12 was my first Victrola I purchased almost 37 years ago. Mine was wind-up and sounded great. I sold it years ago and was able to find another one about a year ago. The price of this one is a bit high but they do sound awesome.

He is only asking $300.00 for the 8-12X. Even at $400.00 I would have considered it, but I already have a nice 8-12 and no more room.

I traded my 8-12 years ago, and I miss it. I'd love to find another nice example, but alas, no room for it if I did.

It's interesting how prices for many cabinet machines have dropped in the past 15 or 20 years. At the rate it's going, don't be surprised to see even more machines junked for parts.

I would say that prices for machines generally have fallen a lot in the last five years especially, led by cabinet models. The market is much, much softer than it was 15 years ago. A Vernis Martin XVI that would have once brought $15-20k might now bring half that. Edison Class Ms are also much cheaper. It's a good market for buyers!

I think every collectable is down price wise, the only hope is once down the only way is up again. Really hard to say with the younger generation going electronic and here in NJ---so many people are having their grocery orders picked and delivered by the store, don't even do their own shopping.
