Edison Diamond DIsc "MOTHER"

Just got back from the Wayne, NJ phonograph show. My "find" was an Edison Diamond Disc "MOTHER". The actual stampers would have been made by plating the "MOTHER". Certainly not a very exciting selection I admit but that doesn't take. away from the 'coolness' of such a rarity.

Thought I'd share a link to a video of this "record" playing.

It sounds certainly clear and rich. Did Edison people use Stroh or did they use standard violins? It sounds almost as an electrical recording... The harp comes out also very well...

It is electrical. It's a Waldo Mayo recording from 1929. No Stroh violin for Mr. Mayo. :)
