YouTube Video Format Assistance?

Hi guys, I recently got a new YouTube account: www.youtube.com/VictrolaCollector

And I have begun the process of uploading videos. However, due to 1. software restraints, and internet connection restraints, (256K, I think) I try to downsize my videos. On average, right off the camera, my videos are around 150 MB long. My internet provider has a 300 MB/day cap on the internet, and I don't want to use up 50% of the alotted amount, in case if I needed to download something important, or Windows needed up update something large (.NET Framework, anyone?)

So, I downloaded a Free Video Converter, which I like, but I don't know how to use it.

The first video I attempted to "scale down" did not turn out so well. True, the file size dropped from 137 MB to 12.4 MB, but the video looks very pixellated. I am converting to the .AVI format.

What do you guys do/what settings do you use for the best overall look of the video? If I had a great connection and no limit, then a 150MB upload would not phase me. However, that is the price I must pay for living out in the boonies. :D

Right now, I'm uploading a video with the .AVI format, with a 24 FPS rate, with a bitrate of 768. I hope that turns out better.

If you have windows movie maker, I believe you can decide how low a quality you wish the video to be. My advice would be to save on space by just posting a photo of the machine playing, perhaps the record label and then attach the recording of the song to it. The lack of moving pictures should save you space which can then be devoted to sound quality :)

While I do agree with what you are saying, whenever I watch a video, I enjoy it dar more when I "see" the machine playing. even if it's just the camera sitting on a table zoomed in on it, it just "feels" better that a photo still, for some reason.
