George, does this one fit on most/all pre-1925 Victor/HMV tonearms? On the 1-5 portable I bought from you long ago, I remember that the brass No.4 is rather tight on other tonearms. I had thought that it was designed that way for some reason, so have used HMV brass No.4s on my other machines. I suspect this might be different with potmetal Victor No.4s...

Yes, it does. It IS a snug fit, but not overly tight. I used this almost exclusively on my Victor V- it even made the acoustical recordings come to life. The fit to the tonearm will be governed more by the isolator than the box, though. This isolator is just a few years old.

Adam- you know that if you buy it and are dissatisfied fr any reason, you can return it. ;) It's been QUITE awhile since you got that 1-5... what- 17 years? Glad to know you still have it- it was a nice one! Wasn't it the one with the old photo of the original owner with the machine?
