I want to make sure that I get the correct crank for my Edison Standard B. Is it the curved "s" shaped crank? Is it the same as the model A crank? Thanks in advance.

No, the crank for a Standard B is a screw-in, and nickel-plated. It's a common crank, so you should have no problem finding one.
Good luck - -

Now I'm confused. Off of my spring there is a 5/16 threaded rod. I have to have a crank with female threads.

Correct, your crank would have female threads. Ron Stitko sells a very nice reproduction crank that is exactly what you need. His info can be found in the links section of this forum.

And that's what George described. The 5/16 threaded rod you describe, screws into the crank.
