I just finished restoring this nice looking mahogany Victrola XVII using a process very much like the recommended restoration tips on the Victor Victrola website. Old Masters Grain Filler, Old Masters Stain, Bulls eye Shellac Sealer, General Finishes Semi Gloss Lacquer top coat - hand rubbed.

All Victrolas go to heaven...

I want to do my 1914 XIV like that now...it's very sad-looking as the last 105 years didn't do it a lot of favors. I love the dark forest-green felt on the turntable and that wood looks like it's nine miles deep.

Is the underside of the lid also refinished? Most restorations leave that "as found" but end up with a mismatch. Yours blends so nicely that I was wondering whether you had redone all that too, right down to a fresh decal.

It looks factory fresh and the motor looks like your usuals--clean enough to eat off of.

Very nice result. As best I can tell from the photos, the choice of stain was excellent. You should be pleased. :)

Very nice. It looks like it just came out of its shipping crate.
