Can this crank be repaired?

I've got this original slotted Edison crank, but the metal post which connects the interior of the wood handle with the body of the crank has broken off. Can this be repaired? I'm afraid that anything beyond gluing it would be beyond my abilities. Aside from this problem, it's still a nice functional crank.

Thanks - Mike

You could try J B Weld a slow set epoxy . Use a lot and let it set 24 hours. I have used it on stationary parts with great success. Otherwise it will have to be drilled out and a new shaft put into it. I am sure there may be a few other good suggestions on this from someone who has repaired one. Tom

It can be repaired, but not with any kind of glue. The broken end needs to be drilled out and a new pin made.
